Groundwork Foreman

FOMAC Construction are currently looking for a competent Construction Foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction sites. As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person for the completion of a project.

You must be well-organised and favour safety above everything else.

Responsibilities

·         Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans

·         Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew

·         Allocate general and daily responsibilities

·         Supervise and train workers and tradespeople

·         Ensure manpower and resources are adequate

Senior Architect

FOMAC Construction are Currently looking for a full time qualified Architect with over 10 years’ experience in residential design. They will be required to take a project from initial feasibility through to achieving planning permission. The role will include site assessment, site plans and layouts, house types, sections and supporting drawings and information.

 The Successful Candidate:

 The individual will have the ability to manage several projects, produce work efficiently and precisely, have a good spatial awareness, be able to interpret levels and surroundings, and visualise new creations. They will also be expected to utilise their architectural flair to produce high quality designs which will be different for each new site.

 There is a high degree of flexibility and autonomy in this role, so the successful candidate will be expected to manage their workload to ensure projects are successful and delivered on time.

Must have all the qualifications and have a residential bias.

  • RIBA Part III Qualified with 5 Years plus UK Experience
  • Residentially focussed – single-family houses and small developments up to circa 100 units.  Commercial projects beneficial.
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in construction drawing packages
  • Strong AutoCAD skills essential
  • SketchUp knowledge would be advantageous.
  • InDesign and Photoshop etc. would be advantageous

Senior Quantity Surveyor

FOMAC Construction are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client based in Clapham

 

The Successful Candidate

• Good understanding of traditional and design and build building methods and products associated with quality new build and refurbishment of high end properties.

• Confidence in dealing directly with Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Clients and Subcontractors.

• Attending site design team meetings where required

• Managing the tender process from start to finish ensuring costings are identified to a high standard.  This would also involve managing multiple projects at any one time

• Able to maintain tight control on variation orders on a large number of on-going projects, assisting Directors, Site Managers and Contracts Managers in recording all variations, pricing them and accurately recording their effect on final accounts and ensure that AI’s are received for all variations

• Pricing and agreeing variations via the Change Control register.

• Prepare Post contract activities& Cost planning

• Take a lead in the calculation and preparation of all company valuations and final accounts.

• Advice on procurement and contract strategies ensuring robust contract documents are generated

• Assist with the preparation of estimates and cost plans and in the development of programmes for the delivery

• Prepare and present monthly job cost analysis data, including those covering financial status, tender and forecast allowances.

• Analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.

• Assume full control of subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management. Overall responsibility for ensuring that all subcontract/supplier orders placed are within budget.

• Assist in the management of sub-contractor procurement processes

• Pay regular visits to site, as well as liaise directly with Contracts Managers and Site Managers to ensure all variations are recorded on CVIs and copied to all interested parties.

The role of a Senior Quantity Surveyor is to drive the tendering andsubmission phase of a project ensuring there is no compromise on programme, quality or Health & Safety.  This role will require you to manage the multiple tenders ensuring content, pricing and deadlines are not compromised.  You will join a team renowned for their exceptional client service who are currently winning a variety of high end residential contracts in London.  You will be given exposure to an array of projects and will be providing a full service to a wide range of high end clients.

The Successful candidate must have:

• Quantity surveying degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying (Essential)

• Minimum of 7years’ experience within the industry (Essential)

• Good understanding of construction contracts (Essential)

• Experience in working on high end residential building projects (Essential)

• Previous experience in using bill of quants.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages e.g. Excel, Word

What you’ll be doing
You will:

  • Have overall responsibility for the successful completion of the section of works and to lead by example, managing the day to day delivery of construction projects
  • Ensure all team members are fully inducted and carry out role specific requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Take responsibility for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff and supply chain within area of control under the strict observance of the safety policy and in conjunction with local HSE
  • Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved
  • Achieve targets and KPI’s in line with Project objectives and monitor performance

HGV Driver

FOMAC Construction are currently recruiting for a HGV driver position in London.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Check vehicle for road worthiness, using the daily check sheet at start of shift.
Ensure Tachographs are correctly completed, and actioned throughout the route, with the appropriate history carried in readiness for inspection if required.
To follow the rules of the highway-code and drivers handbook.
Ensure vehicle is at correct temperature at start, middle and end of route.
Check load for all goods and make sure the load is safe and secure.
Deliver as per the set route
All deliveries to be checked off against the invoice at time of delivery
All payments received at delivery is to be noted on the delivery document, and signed both documentation and payment handed into the office immediately on return
Collect goods as and when required, (complaints or delivery errors)
Pick up empty milk trolleys and bread trays daily.
Wash out vehicle on return leaving the vehicle and cab clean and tidy.
If any accidents incurred, the accident MUST be reported immediately and on return to the depot an accident form must also be completed. Any personal injury to be entered in the accident book.
